Ferry finlandais de la Viking Line

Les postes de Madagascar ont publié en 1994 une série Navires contemporains dans laquelle figurait ce timbre en l'honneur de ce car-ferry finlandais de la Viking Line.

Cette compagnie commença à desservir les ports finnois, les îles Aland et la Suède en 1959 avec S/S Viking. Aujourd'hui, elle possède sept bateaux qui desservent en plus les pays baltes. Ce sont MS Mariella et MS Gabriella sur le trajet Helsinki - Mariehamn - Stockholm ; M/S Amorella et M/S Isabella sur Turku - Mariehamn/Långnäs-Stockholm ; M/S Viking XPRS sur Helsinki-Tallinn ; M/S Cinderella sur Stockholm-Mariehamn et M/S Rosella sur Mariehamn-Kapellskär.

Viking Line commenced service in 1959, when the S/S Viking began sailing between the Finnish mainland, the Åland Islands and Sweden.
Today Viking Line has seven vessels, which sail between the Finnish mainland, Åland and Sweden as well as between Finland and the Baltic states.
