Special Purpose Ships can be seen on rivers, too. This is particularly right at Conflans Sainte Honorine, in the Impressionists Country. This little town is the main French place for inland vessels. A famous museum (located in Gevelot Castle) is dedicated to river's boats and their history. You can see on the pictures (from top to bottom) :
- two law inforcement boats, operated by "Gendarmerie Nationale",
- fire-boat Lieutenant Gillet,
- preserved tug, Jacques, belonging to "Association des Amis du Musée de la Batellerie" after being restaured by members. Here is the website of the association (English & Nederlands language available).
